Learn to Question
Throughout my life I have been studying behavioral patterns and traits of people. I have learnt that a major difference between winners and losers is their ability to ask positive question. Asking question hence, forms an important trait of positive attitude to life. It is our ability to ask questions that puts us on a ''road less travelled''. Finally, it is the quality of questions that determines the quality of life. A few years ago, a middle- aged man come to me ''depressed and unhappy'' about his life. In 10 years he married thrice but to separate. He changed seven jobs in 12 years and remained out of job for over three years. He was 36 but looked much older than his age and was going through a severe emotional trauma.
Knowledge is a treasure whose key are
inquiry and asking of questions; so you must
ask questions for improving your knowledge:
by this, four people have reward from God;
the first one is he who questions, the second
one is he who answers , the third one is he
who listens, and the fourth one is he who
loves such people..........
The moment I asked him what he thought was the issue, he started blaming his wives,kids,ex-bosses the society. I asked him: Is there anything you would have done differently to avoid this situations?
He tried to evade this question. when he knew there was no way out, he started crying and requested the meeting next day. The next day when he came back, he was in a little better emotional state. He told me he could not sleep all night evaluating last 10 years of his life. He admitted that there was nothing wrong with either of his wives or bosses and colleagues, but because of his ''too critical'' rather ''cynical'' attitude, all of them found it too hard to live with him. The same was true for all the jobs he left or was asked to leave. He said he would always take people around him as idiots who did not know what they did. He became too critical and it became extremely difficult to get along with him..
''Questioning is the medicine for ignorance. (Prophet Muhammad, PBUM)
So, Positive question put us on a journey to Self- Discovery. The easiest thing one could do is to blame others. It looks the cheapest bargain. Instead of looking inside or asking positive questions, one can easily choose to do nothing about the issue by passing the blame of miseries on others. But see the price the man paid for his attitude. Instead of being too critical of others, he should have asked himself the questions.
Mind will do what you ask to it. If you want to be critical of others, you send a ''wake- up'' signal to your left brain. once it becomes active, your right or creative brain takes a back seat. It is for you to choose which side of your brain you would like to activate. By asking questions, you are sending a ''Wake-up'' call to your creative and problem- solving mind. Once you ask positive questions, your ''Servant'' is bound to obey you by providing the answers to the questions.
