Don't confuse your feelings with emotions
Mostly people confuse feelings and emotions as synonyms. They are different.
Feelings are defined as "an awareness; a consciousness about our inner stance and quite frequently feelings reflects our thoughts". Feelings refer to subjective reactions, pleasant or unpleasant, that one may have to a situation and usually connote an absence of reasoning. Therefore, feelings are our reaction to situations. Emotions is an individual's response, a reaction to feelings.
Whatever comes from the eye and
the heart is from Allah who is great....
and glorious to passion, but what
comes from the hand and from the
tongue is of the devil.......
Here I am not talking about hunch, or inner feelings, a sixth sense or what I usually refer to as the voice of your inner self, the voice of heart, the voice of God. I am referring to simple human feelings, our response to situations, events and people and most of the time driven by our thoughts. Boredom, sadness, tiredness, fears, injury, disappointment, grief, guilt, loneliness, happiness, contentedness, liking, are all feelings. Anger, hatred, depression, crying and laughing are responses to feelings and hence emotions.
